I started with very small and quick clay models win combination with sketches. It was great fun and a nice practice to translate a sketch directly into a physical 3D object.
WIP picture. The chosen theme was made on a bigger scale to refine the surfaces and really get the design into my hands before stepping towards the 1/5 scale.
To better understand the volume, I started to play around in Maya (my first time)
The start of my 1/5 scale clay model, building up the volumes
The first layer of clay, just covering the foam
Cross sections helped me a lot to build towards the correct volumes
Me doing stuff on the clay model wearing clogs (obligatory) :)
Second try in Maya and 3D printed the result, some quick and dirty rims. Good practice though.
Almost finished!
Experimenting with light painting.
Little photoshoot in front of my faculty.
