Telind Bench's profile

Well Smart Showerhead

Well is a smart home water conservation and behavioral change system that teaches people how to use their household water more efficiently.

Through creative hardware engineering and intricate industrial design, the system collects and reports actionable data that informs users about their home water consumption habits – resulting in lasting behavioral changes.

Well began as an internal learning project between Mindtribe and industrial design firm Matter, and attracted the attention of venture investors and Fortune 500 companies for investment and further development.

My role on the project was to design and build the first looks-like-works-like prototype of the full system.
The prototype I created integrated fluid handling, a deadfronted lightpipe UI, and a unique pivoting magnetic mount into Matter's ID. This prototype was featured in Fast Company and both the Mindtribe and Matter company portfolios.
