I decided to teach myself vector illustration using Adobe Illustrator. To make it fun, I needed projects I wouldn't mind making. This is where Ultros from Final Fantasy 6 comes in. He's an octopus villain that shows up several times through out the game. In the end, you kind of learn to love him. For the design, I started off with sketches.

After deciding on the sketch, I refine it but still keep it loose.

This is the finished 3 color vector illustration. I was able to stretch the colors using halftones where available. He was a lot of fun to make, now on the next design!
