PAGAN - Herbal Liqueur
PAGAN - Herbal Liqueur is a bottle design concept that I have created for my university project. The main task that I was trying to carry out was to reflect my Lithuanian ethnicity in the essence of the bottle. After a lot of research that I have done about ethnical Lithuanian drinks I have decided to choose traditional Lithuanian herbal liqueur. As I found out herbal liqueurs are an ancient and unique part of traditional Lithuanian culture and it also has some mythological meaning in its ingredients. All of them represent ancient Lithuanian pagan world-views and world’s division into three mythological spheres. ‘Roots’ represent the underworld, peels and herbs – the earth, blossoms and fruits – the sky. In order to unveil this idea, I used 3 Lithuanian pagan’s gods: Perkūnas (God of Sky), Žemyna (Goddess of Earth) and Vėlinas (God of Underworld) to unveil the combination of these three different spheres.
