by filling in the missing bits - you preserve.
You accept the material that has somehow survived."

Historical palace is part of a park complex located in the northern part of Sławików, village in Province of Silesia.  History of the beginning of palace is very unclear. Building has not been the subject of comprehensive research by historians and archaeologists. The complex was probably built at the beginning of the eighteenth century.
Archive pictures:
Eclectic palace in Sławików is a building made of bricks, covered by plaster, built on the plan of an elongated rectangle, partial basement with three levels. It was covered with a flat roof. Facade (east elevation.) 19-axis, with a central projection, surmounted by a triangular pediment with the remains of reliefs, originally preceded by a broken column portico. The facade is closed by towers. West, garden elevation repeats the same system but with towers at the corners. From the south-east there was built an orangery, in the form of two-levels gallery arcade, with a small building in the middle, a closed triangular abutments. It is possible that there was a long arbour leading from the palace to the garden in the north-west. Under it there is existing tunnel. The interior has two-section with a corridor between the tracts. Currently the interior is completely devastated. The entire area of the complex is overgrown and inaccessible to people. The main idea of the project was to bring to life to an abandoned space.
The design focused on repairing and restoring the original complex while respecting the historical structure. Both the restoration and repair of existing buildings were driven by the idea that the original design should be emphasized in its spatial context and original materiality – the new reflecting the old without complete imitation. A major problem was to adapt to current design requirements. Palace is located in the south-eastern part of the plot.
There was designed a Neurological Health Resort. Situation plan was inspired by the human nervous system. The basic element of the human nervous system is the nerve cell or neuron. Here, neurons are created by existed and new buildings of the Resort. They should have suitable connection between each other. Likewise, the neurons in the human body in contact with each other through links, called synapses.

The entire palace and park complex includes:
- the ruins of an ancient palace adapted to Healt Resort included bedrooms, medical, therapeutic areas, restaurant, auxiliary facilities and administrative
- a newly designed SPA building with a small swimming pool (on the west of the palace, the palace is connected with SPA by existing underground tunnel)
- former granary as the Crafts Centre
- the mausoleum ruins as a Place of Silence
- existing buildings as a Local Cultural Center

Courtyard on the east side of the main entrance was closed by modern building. There is clinic zone. Thanks to it we have closed interior composition. New parts of the palace are only a background of it without any strong detail. I added new superstructure over the existing main part. In this zone there is a common hall and a multipurpose hall. On the top floor there is also designed flat superstructure with rooms. In the eastern part of this level there is terrace.

New additions are a multi-layered structure that works as a skin. Inner layer is created by a two-way mirror, then construction and the outer glass facade and light breakers. In this way we obtained a three-dimensional character of the facade, however, with minimal external detail. Venetian mirror perfectly reflects the surrounding architecture of the palace, greenery and sky. Thanks to this new architecture disappears. Blinds also make an interesting play of light, because they can be set at any angle. Thereby controlling the penetration of light into the interior of the building. The windows and shutter system makes for excellent natural light within the building.
