A while ago I discovered Jared Nickerson's "The Sentinels", and I was blown away by the aesthetic and craftsmanship on display. I was so inspired that I eventually decided to to give my own spin on the concept, while learning how to draw like he does in Adobe Illustrator.

It began as a daily challenge in which I'd physically sketch out a quick character based on a random theme a friend and I had decided upon (Usually environment-related). They all stick to the same body template and color palette (Browns, greys, and yellows). In order to differentiate my characters from his, I wanted them to be somewhat less spectral and more humanoid in appearance.
