HUBBL UI/UX Design

The challenge was to design a quantified self mobile application that appeals to individuals with Autism or ADHD to improve their quality of life via meditation. Hubbl is an app promoting mental well being among children, primarily among the Autistic and ADHD spectrum, through its extended features, simplistic navigation, and friendly UI. The main purpose for this app is to modernize traditional meditation techniques that will provide users with a more personal experience. Hubbl can easily be adapted into the user’s daily routine to remind them to just take a moment and regroup. The app is unique for its audio-visual tactic that mimics the interactive metronome technique used to train focus retention and a community simulation to remind users that meditation can be fun too.
Concept
I began my research by competitive auditing other meditation apps. I sampled applications that are specifically designed for audience with Autism and ADHD as well as any meditation app with audio features.

My main inspiration was Headspace. Although Headspace offers a “kids“ version, I wanted to create an app that was specific towards children with Autism and ADHD. The app should be able to also educate the importance of emotional wellbeing and attentiveness.
