A self-branding project
劭 S.H.A.O, is a self branding project is created to spread the ideology of appreciation and excellence. 劭, a Chinese character, means to excel and be the best. It was the name bestowed upon me by my father when I first came into this world, with hopes that I’ll excel and be the best in everything that I do. As a meticulous designer, I have always believed in showing intricacy through the idea of simplicity as a form of respect to the user. Life, to me should be simple and honest. The same applies to my design principles. The motto of 劭 S.H.A.O is to highlight the care and accuracy of my attention to details. Thus, S.H.A.O stands for “Striving for Higher Accuracy in Objectivity”.
With that, I have identified four tools of my trade as icons to portray the brand personality:
1. Pencil – to mark out the essentials and planning.
2. Ruler - to aid my accuracy.
3. Magnifying glass – to inspect the final details.
4. Scalpel (Craft Knife) – to assist in realizing the details of the design.

This kit reflects the design process whenever I am working on my artwork. I hope this set of kit will allow people to relate me as a perfectionist who always strive to achieve simplicity towards design. I also hope that this kit will inspire designers to ideate excellency through simplicity.
