I Put a Spell on You

School project at DMJX. The job was to create a new album cover for an iconic record, randomly picked. I picked Nina Simone's "I Put a Spell on You", originally released in 1965. I got inspired by the patterns on her many vibrant dresses, and the design is a modern take on some of the beautiful jazz covers of the 1960s. Everything is set in Akzidenz Grotesk, which at the time was a widely used typeface.
