The other assignment involved us choosing a flavoured drink where we as a class decided to do Meiji’s yoghurt seeing that there were no similar products in the market.

My decision to choose banana was because the Malaysian market had very limited choices based on this flavour; many of these were Korean branded ones. The lecturer challenged us to ensure that the shape of the packaging must be different, something unexpected.

I faced some issues at the start as Meiji was a Japanese brand where my initial ideas did not gel with the theme. I experimented with elements like japanese dolls, Mount Fuji, traditional buildings, the bonsai, etc where after much revision and consultation with the lecturer, she approved the combination of cow patterns and the banana which created an amusing feel.

Through this assignment I learnt the importances of researching different cultures as their distinct elements can be used in visual form to convey the look and feel. Once again we wrapped up our assignment by taking proper product photos.
