«Stephanie’s first lace»

Stephanie is a thirteen-year-old daughter of a banker living in XVII century Brussels. She craves exquisite lace which would let her look like a grown-up. In the story her dream comes true. The tale is based on Otto Van Veen «Portrait of a girl» painting from the collection of Museum of Western and Oriental Art (Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum of Art in Kyiv). The story is not historically accurate, rather an artistic version which helps little readers to learn not only about the domestic routine and life of people of another era, but also about art.
