Dimitrina 2.0 Typeface

I don't usually evaluate my work. As far as I am concerned all of it is both shitty and beautiful, depending on the viewpoint. But I felt that I can definitely improve the first typeface that I ever created and make it as good as the last one. That plus the fact that many people paid money to have it made me consider making a nice little and free update.
Part 1 - Technical Mistakes

This one is pretty straight forward - italic "q" just doesn't look like that.
When I started I was naive - I thought that you draw letters by drawing lines. But that is wrong. If you just just draw the lines ,as you do when you use a pen, you will get something that resembles the left "h". And if you draw the outlines of the letters... well as you can see it is a different story.
Completely Different
Part 2 - Style

I cannot put my finger on what is wrong with the left "a" but I am pretty sure that there is something. When in doubt, redraw it.
Ugh... That left "r" is hurting my eyeees...
No, I am pretty sure that I didn't. If I had to design an "r" for this typeface I would surely draw something like... this.
What?
Shut up, everything looks like "Helvetica" to you!
"g" was one of my best glyphs in Dimitrina. I only needed to tweak it a little. Changing the proportions, and adding that little curve at the bottom did the trick
I think the old "s" was good, but it wasn't fit for this typeface (compare it style-wise to "g" for example). The new one is better
"I included the "d" here not to show you what I changed (just some minor detail), but what I didn't change. If you want to comply to the rules of cursive (italic) typing (and in this design I do) you should put the curve upside down like in "q". In other words this is a mistake. Why didn't I fix it? I don't know exactly. Maybe I was used to it, maybe it was because I hate rules. Or maybe I think like those Persian carpet makers who deliberately leave imperfections in their work, in order to highlight the imperfections of them as individuals.
Part 3 - End result
Just some pictures of text and posters of old movies.
