Cultural Stamp
The theme behind the design of these stamps is to celebrate the ban being lifted from allowing Saudi women to drive. For the design of the stamp I have chosen to do something more satirical than serious. Therefore, for the background I have chosen a photograph of Saudi women driving Bumper Cars, because it was the only “car” that they could drive before the 26th of September 2017. The choice of the color pallet reflects the humorous approach that Saudi people have towards serious matters, alongside the choice of typeface and placement. The word written on each stamp is Qiyada which can mean leadership or Driving, which reflects the leadership nature of Saudi women.
