Website Refresh:
IKONIC
I have designed and executed the evolving ikonic website (2013-2018).
Project Context
I started working at ikonic as an intern in 2012. After being hired as a full-time designer I was given access to the ikonic media website as a testing ground for design sprints and code testing. During my time at ikonic we have rebuilt the website from the ground-up twice and migrated the build three times!
I strive to keep the ikonic website fresh and consistently ahead of the curve both in terms of development techniques and visual styling. The visuals included in this project reflect the latest 2018 updates to the ikonic site.
Platform Development
In 2013 ikonic made the move to Drupal 7. With the previous version losing support over the coming months some of our Drupal clients were expressing interest in migrating their own Drupal products to the latest version of the open-source content management system. Since then, the site has evolved twice over - with new, dynamic page-building techniques and a redeveloped theme to even better optimize the site for mobile devices.
In 2017 ikonic again migrated our website – this time to Hubspot. The powerful marketing automation software also includes impressive content management capabilities which I have now taken advantage of with multiple clients. Through this experience, I have become an expert in building in Hubspot's proprietary HUBL coding language and templating system.
Integrations:
ikonic integrates Google and Hubspot Analytics among other tools into every page. Our technology stack is like the flux capacitor for our marketing team - taking our customer insights to the next level.
Social:
The ikonic site uses a custom social-sharing widget built using minimal code and optimal page-load performance at its core.
Branding
Our most recent brand iteration required a fresh color palette which consists of four blue hues and one call-to-action color. Our complete color palette and minimized typography guides are shown below.
Custom Vector Artwork
At ikonic we place a high value on crafting beautiful products that leave a lasting impact on customers. Our unique approach to design through customer experience means our clients receive a custom solution every time.
For the ikonic website I built one-of-a-kind vector graphics to illustrate dozens of concepts across the website. A few of those graphics are featured here.
