Owen Gildersleeve's A Winter's Walk
Owen's new children's book, A Winter's Walk, follows a little boy on his wintry journey home with a special present. The book also features an array of real twinkling lights that are revealed as the reader progresses through the story.
To help give a magical wintry feel to the book Owen decided to create a series of large panoramic spreads to illustrate the story, showing the boy gradually making his way home, passing through different scenes and interacting with various people as he goes. The illustrations were all painstakingly hand-cut out of paper and pieced together using a range of layers to give the images an interesting visual depth.
