What is Hyped Magazine?

In february 2010 3 close friends and I started a new and groundbreaking online magazine called Hyped Magazine. It all began as a web based magazine but we quickly realized that tablets was the right media for our vision. Hyped Magazine, on tablets, was released 6 months later and we were proud to be the first and best iPad magazine in Denmark.

It was crucial for us to embrace the iPad and its many opportunities and functions instead of just copy/pasting PDF's on to a ludicrous reader as the majority still do. Hyped Magazine was a visionary product, 100% interactive and basically the best of both worlds.

Via a stylish, easily accessible and colorful design, Hyped's mission was to guide the readers through an ever-growing jungle of games, movies and music. Hyped's "voice" was unostentatious, challenging, humorous and welcoming. We recognized and understood our readers extensive interests and through feature articles, reviews, articles and interviews Hyped Magazine managed to explore all facets of the industry. Where conventional specialized magazines often lose everything but their core audience when they start discussing boring technical terms, Hyped Magazine managed to navigate around this with elegance. Our mission was not to satisfy the minority's narrow-minded interest for games, movies or music, but to accept and embrace the entertainment industry as it is.
This required a renewal of magazine culture in general and a confrontation with conventional thinking, both from the Editor's point of view but also visually.

To summarize Hyped Magazine was about personality, commitment and last but not least about joy.

Hyped Magazine unfortunately had to close down in December 2011 due to lack of investors, but the knowledge and experience we all gained still stands strong and has proven to be very useful and essential for my present career.
