LOLcat: Teh Exhibishun

 

The exhibition, curated by Jenny Theolin of Soapbox and Sons, ran from 23 January - 15 February at the Framers Gallery, in London, celebrated the world of that beloved meme - the LOLcat. A fabulous 50% of the proceeds will be going to Battersea Cat and Dog Home, so it’s LOLcats helping actual cats (and dogs), which makes me happy as I am a crazy cat lady after all. (Update: Over £4k was raised for Battersea - yay!)

I jointly exhibited with the lovely Kirsty Logan, whose poem “Sestina to my Lolling Cat” I typeset and illustrated. The poem is about how her cat is more loll about than laugh out loud. The illustration features my gorgeous little cat Mia, who sadly passed away in last year. Mia loved lolling about my desk, walking on my keyboard and encouraging my procrastinative tendencies with lots of hugs, posing for instagram shots and hanging out in the garden.
