House in "La Reserva" . Sotogrande, Spain.
Located in the hills of Sotogrande, near the natural reserve of "Los Alcornocales", in the middle of the Cádiz mountain range.
The primary challenge was to design a near-net-zero energy building with bioclimatic parameters (including brise soleil, green roof, water surface and vegetation for shade and coolness) keeping the services and quality of a high-end house.
We choose a mix of photovoltaic and geothermal heat pump units to provide the energy, wich covers the 80% of the daily energy requirements.The external bound uses low thermal emissivity glass and traditional solutions that guarantee the maximum thermal inertia.
The pure geometry is sorted in order of their use: night zone (bedrooms), day zone (entrance, living room), work zone (garage, classic cars exposition)
