A first-year typography assignment. As designers we were required to read the article "The Crystal Goblet" by Beatrice Warde and then create a design off of our opinion of said text. I personally disagreed. She claimed that when using typography a designer has to choose to be practical or aesthetically pleasing, they cannot depict both sides. In my booklet design I choose to showcase her opinion with legible text and have the rest surround the book by creating a textured/overlapping pattern.
