Year 2 | 2 - Beautiful CHAOS

Nest in the middle of the “forest” , filled with greeneries, the site has a silent and claim atmosphere to offer.
Consumers :
Power of purchase,
Buying Experience, rather than the food.
GREYHOUND
Greyhound is a fusion restaurant between Thai and Italian. Unlike any other restaurant, it is a lifestyle brand that speaks of individualism. Their target customers group or subcultures are the creative industry and young adult. Greyhound has never failed to appreciate how everything in Bangkok could be extremely chaotic, yet still goes and blend well together, simply put, Bhanu Inkwat noted “It is a Beautiful Chaos”.
CONCEPT
“BEAUTIFUL CHAOS”
Multiplicity
(space)
In the idea of Beautiful chaos, it suggests the search for order in chaos. By introducing a new system to the building, the flexibility of the space expand as within the context of the space, chaos is known as multiplicity.

By generating multiplicity, there is no clear distribution of functions, as one functions overlap the other, it creates another incidential space.

Individualism (user)
Most of the functions in the restaurant are blurred. It is when the spaces are left to the user to interpret that they are practicing individualism. It is when there is individualism(s) that there is conceptual chaos.

Once step inside, contrast between solid black wall and glass staircase which offer a sneak peak into the kitchen direct user to use the staircase. Once on the staircase, one would realise the idea of being into the kitchen as this is where public is cut directly into the private. Standing on top of the chiefs, the staircase serves as another function as a "view point" to the user suggesting the idea of multiplicity in functions.

As the staircase was made wider, the Playhound area turns into a a platform for the user to interact and exchange idea. There is no defined number of seating, the space is left to the user to interpret. The seating is position in the way that offer the view of the exterior greeneries. Moreover, sunlight are brought into the building to balance off the chaotic form.

Where the section get closer to the user, and position along the Playhound, the 2nd level dining area offer a more private dining experience.

As greyhound has no headquarter or office that act as their root in Singapore, the Proposal include a secondary function to the restaurant as retail/headquarter. At the same time, taking advantage of the circulation by overlapping the existing function with a runway, adding value to the brand itself as this offer a new experience of fashion walk and suggest the idea of multiplicity.
