This initiative is a part of an individual fundraiser I did a few moths ago for a school named Paranga Vidya Kendra in the Magadi village of Karnataka. You can read more about the fundraiser here.
"An illustrated Guide to Football" is part of a 5-series illustrated sports guide. The first part of this initiative was a fundraiser, where I raised Rs. 50,000 and installed a number of sports equipment in the charity-run Paranga Vidya Kendra. The second part is the illustrated guides. Schools like Paranga don't have full time P.T masters or sports coaches, internet is also scarce, so forget learning a sport the way we do. My hope is that these guides will help kids as well as adults in such areas learn more about modern sports and include them in their curriculum. First set of these books will be distributed at Paranga, so kids can optimally use the sports equipment installed there and enjoy their sports hour.
These guides comprise a host of things including detailed info on a particular sport, laws, rules, famous players, fun facts, and illustrated stories that will teach kids to be more inclusive among other things.
Special care is taken to make these guides gender neutral to encourage both girls and boys participate in all kinds of sports activities.
Note - This project is still in progress. As I am the only person working on these guides, it might take a couple of months to complete the entire series. Shown above are few picks from the guide.
