Type Evolution

Type Evolution is an editorial design project that look into the progression of letters and alphabets throughout the history, and how one leads to the other, The publication is designed to show the movements of the alphabets, and to also serve contexts on some of the most important typefaces that has ever been created. The project was awarded a Merit by the International Society of Typographic Designers Student Assessment Scheme.
ALPHABETS
In each section of Type Evolution, there are several alphabets shown to represent the era that was being discussed. For each alphabet, a letterform was chosen to represent as a whole. However, not all sections consisted of different alphabets, such as in Roman Development section, most of the letterforms belong to one single alphabet.
SPECIMENS
Through the evolution of type, typefaces have marked the development thorughout the eras. In Type Evolution, 24 of the most renowned typefaces have been chosen and shown through different specimens correlating to their individual timeline. Shown below are 4 of the specimens in the publication.
