Generation Entrepreneur's YouTube Channel
Kick-starting our YouTube channel will expand our platform and encourage us to document initiatives. Although we already have a YouTube channel (two infact), I have proposed a structure to breathe new life into our channel.
2. The Content - What Generation Entrepreneur uploads to YouTube.
2.2 'Generation Entrepreneur Shorts' -
3 - 5 minute shorts explaining a topic in concise, yet sufficient detail. Usually a talk from Initiate 48 paired with the corresponding power-point presentation. These talks should supplement the video with narration, interviews and animations- and tie everything together into a cohesive video. (Vox and Vice does this exceptionally well)
eg.) 'The Lean Canvas | Generation Entrepreneur'
or 'Designing your business idea | The Lean Canvas'
To have consistent titles for our videos, we'll follow this model:
- Title | Generation Entrepreneur
- Compelling statement about the topic | Title
2.3 Summaries and other videos
This includes summaries of our events (Initiate 48), promotional videos and anything else. Remember to tell a story!
3 Possible Partnerships & Affiliations
- UNSW TV, YouTube Channel with 44,000 subscribers
- UNSW Business School, YouTube Channel with 2,600 subscribers
4 Traction
- Collaborating with notable guests
- Hosting contests
- Creating entrepreneurial playlists
- Buying an initial number of views
To justify, videos less than 5,000 views are likely to
die in YouTube's algorithm. Buying views may leverage
our chances of exposure.
5 Final Note
Unlike other social media, YouTube has a very high barrier to success- with millions of hours of video being uploaded daily. Nevertheless, YouTube is a spectacular platform that will supplement the Generation Entrepreneur brand.
Let me know your thoughts.
