MRSH - THE WITCH’S TALE LOOKBOOK
Mrs Herskin - 2013/14 Capsule Collection - The Witch’s Tale
Concept, design and production by Larisza Pasztircsák, Linda Gergely.

Mrs Herskin`s own capsule collection “The Witch’s Tale” breaks away from reality again with a glimpse into the world of devils and witches, creating extravagant accessories for urban demons. Their bag collection was inspired by the witchcraft beliefs in the folklore. Demons, devils, superstition, transfiguration, sorcery, prediction, night rituals, sexuality, irrational fears - all have major roles in these beliefs. They explored the world of witchcraft and tried to translate its symbols and feelings into shapes, colours and decorations. Among other abilities of the witches one of the most exciting is their transformation into animals. They made this transformation into an animal form palpable with the bit bizarre looking “creature-like” appearance of the bags. Since it is an important ability of the witches to ride different animals, people and things, it is of high priority to make characteristic harness of the bags resembling the essential ingredient of riding. They used black fur and dark red leather; fire burnt scratched metal plates, chains, handmade rivets resembling animal claws, harness as straps for the bags. The five completed bags embody different witch characters and activities, such as Devil Rider, Iron Nose, Demon’s Box, Witches' Sabbath and Flying Witch. Mrs Herskin tried to tell the story both of the creepy and the hilarious side of these beliefs so the overall atmosphere of the collection happens to be bizarre and unexpected.
