BOOK OF AIR is a series of bundled compositions for improvised music, exploring the parameters of sound and time. I were asked to do a cover artwork for the first chapter: FIELDTONE. The band came up with the idea of a sound wave and as I've been expected first sketches came in a minimal and sharp b&w lines. But things turned out more like art direction... an old photo I did one foggy morning 5.03 am in my homeland mirrored idea to the core:
"The sound to be found in nature has a very slow groove. A groove embedded by silence, and so slow it can almost only be felt while spending a few hours in the nature at sea, during a forest trip, in open fields, ... It is this groove and the “silence” of nature that was an inspiration for the FIELDTONE compositions."
