– Amish Heartland –
A monthly magazine providing a look at the businesses, people, places, and stories found in the world's largest Amish Community – Holmes County, Ohio.
When I began work on this publication it required a complete redesign from the ground up. The goal was to reflect a bit of the traditional, rustic, yet minimal culture of the Amish within the design. The result is a blend of natural and lively colors, lots of white space, and a focused use of serif fonts; all complemented by details such as quilted patterns and worn paper textures. Each month I enjoy figuring out how to please our advertisers while still maintaing a clean and readable design for our readers.
