Inter-Soul Waltz

This is a song I wrote a few weeks ago as a tribute to everyone who's left the world.

The quality's definitely better this time!

Inter-Soul Waltz

Composition, lyrics, arrangement, and singing by Michelle Ning Lo

She lies there
So small, tender
I touch her face
Warmth is gone and coldness takes its place
I call her name, I call her name, yet
She remains just lying there with that calm face

Oh, the irony
How peaceful the dead can seem
But it's fair, they have suffered already
It is time for the people who care (to take over) the agony
We do so willingly
Although painful we soak in the grief
Because we know that it would be
More of a torture if all (we felt was) nothing

I move on
As if she
Was never gone
But she is gone and sadness takes its toll
I call her out, I call her, although
There is no way she would hear my voice, I know so

Oh, the ones we love
Occupy a space in our souls
When they're gone, they're replaced with a hole
A hole that we would try to fill in (with other people), but withhold
We will hesitate
There are too many things to let go
It's risky, however we know
We'd rather constantly fall (through the hole than have nothing) at all

Oh the melody
Sung between the living and the dead
Carries thoughts and emotions not said
Things so secret and private, only (in a wordless song can they) be kept
Our emptiness Is the proof that they really existed
Therefore, clinging onto nothingness
We do whatever we can (to save every piece of) what's left

I can see her still
I can see her as if she were real
I want her to, I want her to know
(That this is) our inter-soul waltz
