Mot grec pour descente, KATABASIS, le trajet vers le bas, est l’histoire d’une femme qui affronte le décès de son père. Du début à la fin, on suit ces deux personnages qui se revêtent des visages différents, afin de renégocier leur rôle l’un en face de l’autre.

Le passage du deuil de la femme pour son père se transforme au passage initiatique du dernier en tant qu’Initié aux Mystères d’Éleusis, une métaphore visuelle qui permet à la fois l’affrontement de ces deux personnages ainsi que le besoin d’accomplir chacun son voyage personnel.

KATAVASIS is the story of a woman that deals with the death of her father, a loss that forces her to dive deep into a state of grief. From beginning to end, we follow these two characters, who put on different faces in order to renegotiate their role to one another: father to burden, daughter to wife.

We follow them as they go down, underground, deeper and deeper to their own state of mind. And just like that, the process of mourning becomes a rite of passage and more specifically, that practiced on the Eleusinian Mysteries, where sleep is a foretaste of death and he tastes like a pomegranate.
