The birth of the sneakerhead culture came in the 1980’s in America, and was deeply engrained with the emerging basketball and hip-hop movement of the time. Nike’s Air Jordan launched this collective subculture where the value of the product was inversely related to how many people could potentially get their hands on it. Exclusivity and status being at the core of every sneakerhead’s collection.
Sneak Peek is a platform that aims to give their users exclusive access to these sought out items. The brief was to create the brand identity along with the UI design for the application. The inspiration for the brand came from the concept that, for a true collector, their collection is never complete. This means that they are always searching for that missing piece. This was explored across the brand — through the logo, image treatment and a custom typeface.
