Art Direction for the award-winning short film 'The Joyous Farmer', directed by Hiran Balasuriya.

The Joyous Farmer is an adaptation of a short story penned by Sri Lankan novelist Anuk Arudpragasam. Taking stylistic cues from the surrealist writers of Soviet Russia like Andrey Platonov, the film explores the surreal absurdity of transplanting the reliance on pharmaceutical antidepressants in the west onto the poverty-stricken landscape of the so-called ‘third world’.
