It was an honour to be asked again to design the 2018 slow planner by Nelli, the founder of the Slow Movement in Budapest. After the challenges I faced with last year, I brought Dani Mate on board this year to create the 216 pages long book that is full of illustrations.
It took us three months to finish the planner, in which every page is different.
We decided to create a book full of vivid colours, and unpersonalised, though very lively characters who are engaged in all kinds of activities.
The very detailed drawings are meant to reward the users who take time to stop and wonder at them. Thanks to the detailed composition they can discover hidden humorous hints and pieces of illustration that can fill their heart with kindness everyday.
Nelli is a great partner to brainstorm on the illustrations. We had much fun hiding tiny jokes in the drawings (ie: on every composition there is a puppy, or some of our friends) and she was open for these ideas. Actually it was her who asked us to be braver and she encouraged us to dare to spice up the less active topics too.
The planner was produced with three different types of hard covers and it was printed in more than 3000 copies. We hope they will be all ragged and full of doodle this time next year.
