Training retail employees social and business skills with Virtual Reality
Role: Prototyper and Content Consultant

Training is an essential part of retail, however, when there is a larger workforce this can prove expensive and time-consuming. Several companies opt to have e training as a sort of certification and quality assessment of their employees. This helps companies understand the impact of their personnel on the overall experience of their customers and their return rate.

Even the most advanced forms of online e training won't cover all of the required needs because of its limitation, normal media is bidimensional, its tied to a screen or a projection, and no matter the gimmick the immersive factor of linear media is quite low. With this loss of immersion comes a list of skills that cannot be taught, and thus resulting in not acknowledging or connecting with the person by recognizing the fact that they are there and they will be served. If the employee finds his or herself in the situation in which they have to be spatially aware, it will be up to their intuition to come up with a solution in that moment.

One proposal to use immersion and spatial awareness to train people and facilitate the transfer of knowledge is the usage of Virtual Reality.
