Este projecto ambicionava três coisas: a ilustração de um universo material elaborado numa obra literária, a selecção de momentos-chave da obra, e, por último, a concepção de um livro na sua íntegra, desde a paginação até à costura.
A minha escolha residiu na intenção de utilizar uma obra portuguesa que não só tivesse potencial criativo para a representação dos lugares e personagens, mas também um carácter sarcástico e crítico que reflectisse problemáticas da socialização e da sociedade.
Como o projecto se enquadra numa unidade curricular, traduz-se agora num artefacto do percurso académico e, em particular, num primeiro momento de design editorial com ilustrações descomprometidas de qualquer dever estilístico.
This project aimed for three things: the illustration of a material universe elaborated in a work of literature, the selection of key moments of the work, and finally the conception of a book in its entirety, from pagination to binding.
My choice revolves in the intention of using a Portuguese book that not only has a creative potential for the representation of places and characters, but also a sarcastic and critical tone that reflects the problematics of socialization and society.
Since the project is framed within a curricular unit, it now translates into an artifact of my academic path, and, in particular, a first moment of editorial design featuring illustrations uncommitted to any stylistic duty.
