Bachelor's thesis: CONCEPT HYBRID VEHICLE
This final thesis presents the concept of a family car that combines a city car with an outer city cruiser. This is achieved with a hydraulic system positioned along the car and one at each wheel. The car thus can lengthen or shorten it's wheel base along x-axis as well as widen or narrow along y-axis. The moving is done on a comand by the user of the vehicle. When in narrow shape, car maneuvering in tight spaces like smaller parking lots and city centre, is easier and more nimble. This also effectively reduces road traffic. On the other hand car can expand its volume and thus accomodate up to four people or carry bigger loads. When driving out of towns roads are wider and speed limits tend to be higher; city cars are not accustomed for such driving conditions, so that is where wider stance accomodates for better stability and handling. The arrival of new technologies, materials and production methods in the last few years make this car finally make this type of car possible to develop.
