The project was to get a recent conference talk and to create a gift booklet. We could only use one image, and only of the person who gave the talk. I designed five different covers with four different color schemes. I chose this cover because I like that it used different languages to portray the theme of the talk. I used five different languages for each color. Mad and Hater are in small black text. This is representative of our black mood when we're angry. Sad and Victim are represented as blue, and Glad and Disciple are in the peach/tan color.
I designed the booklet so that each left page had a pull quote from the section on the right. The page uses the same color as on the book cover.
The odd numbered pages have a teal bar across the bottom to add color to the page and to tie in to the cover. The blue of the page number is the same blue as the Victim on the cover.
The frame around the pull quotes is colored in teal to add repetition and unity to the project.
I used the tan/peach for some of the elements of the talk on the left pages. I show hierarchy through the size of the text and by changing the font.
I used the correct m-dash by using 'shift-option-hyphen.'
I decided to put my image on the back along with President Uchtdorf's urge and plea for us to press on.
This is a digital mock-up of the back and front cover. This was a fun project and it taught me a lot. I can't wait to use my new skills on my own projects.
