Lululemon - Personal Shoot

I absolutely love shooting sports/fitness, but have recently been eyeball-deep in automotive photography. So, I stepped away from my desk, corralled some local specimens of fitness in my area, bought matching branded clothing at Lululemon, and did a personal shoot showcasing said clothing and athletes.

There’s something rewarding when capturing raw human athleticism and emotion that simply can’t be duplicated in automotive photography… Variety is the spice of life, and the same applies to photography. Every now and then I need to set up a personal assignment to stay sharp, and continually point my portfolio in a never-ending specific direction.

This means I had to (gasp) take down my shoots with Lion’s quarterback Matthew Stafford, NBA MVP Derrick Rose, and numerous other sports images involving cycling, baseball, and more cycling. I’ll pour out a little bit of whiskey for their past visual service, but raising another to a more future specific vision.

Big thanks to Raphael FS with the outstanding retouching. I’ve done 99.9% of my retouching in the past, and it was a joy to hand the RAW images off to someone and turn the images around with little to no revisions… I was timid at first, but Raphael knocked it out of the park. The retouching is a bit of a colorful departure from Lululemon’s current style, but that’s why I love it.
