Situation
To rebrand and create a magazine layout that showcased both visual art and literary submissions using a simplistic style known as minimalism.

Investigation
Research began with the minimalist approach to design. This approach revealed a clean, simple way to convey a message in my design through the use of type and whitespace. I discovered white space added consistent order, clarity and simplicity to a layout. My research included other literary arts magazines to see their approach. This research gave me  insight to continue building a brand identity and book layout for the Furious Season.

Insight
The insight I acquired through research lead to my concepts. I would create three deliverables that would be consistent, simple, and appeal to the literary arts audience in the local charlotte area.

Idea
My ideas produced a brand identity and magazine layout that would stay consistent for each issue. I accomplished this with a logo and brand icon that includes  type and quadrilateral shapes. Special characters were created within the logo design that eliminated the crossbar and arms of specific letters to push the minimalist limits even further. A magazine layout was created with clear paragraph styles, headers, subheads that flowed through the publication balancing the literary and visual art submissions.
