This publication based project was completed as part of the coursework for my MA in November 2017. The brief set stipulated that we each chose a report published on the Wikileaks platform and use it as the basis from which to design a stand alone magazine. This magazine should convey the themes within the said report and used only illustrations and imagery we had created personally. My publication was based on a diary account written by Trident whistleblower, William McNeilly, which was leaked in 2015. Given the modern subject matter of the article, I wanted the magazine to have a current, technological look, whilst also maintain a reference to the diary format in which it was written. To do this, I used the ‘sans serif’ typeface Helvetica, a radar screen inspired colour palette and a series of unfinished, quite linear, vector based illustrations.
