Normal Rolling PIn

I wanted to make a basic home tool. I didn't necessarily want to invent a new gadget (a YouTube video of how to properly use a knife should always beat wasting space on some sort of specialized chopping doodad). I would rather contribute to a time-honored tool that has already earned its place.

I took a look at rolling pins, and the handles seem pretty unsatisfactory. People either grip them with their fingertips to keep their knuckles from dragging, or they just give up and roll the pin with their palms.
I made a quick prototype to see if I could come up with something more substantial. Orienting the handles normal to the pin let them sit high enough for the baker to move fast with plenty of room for knuckles. It also let the carpals (bottom of the palm) rest on top of the grips for plenty of easy power. The ends of the pin tick in to prevent lines from being creased into the dough. Little mini-pins with the same shape made for comfortable handles.

People who tried it out liked it. The main complaint was that it might not fit in every drawer, but that doesn't bother me terribly. I don't always agree that miniaturization is an overarching need of consumers.

Normal Rolling PIn

A rolling pin that is a bit more ergonomic yet still somewhat traditional.
