For our own office on the edge of the Utrecht city we have realised a clear and functional design with low investment in an existing building. A major objective was to create a great inspirational work space for 8 people with a character that represents our vision and approach. With simple tools and cheap materials an extremely functional and light office is established. The long narrow section at the front is used to discuss and lunch and is bounded by a low styrofoam bookcase with models. In the broad high area behind, there are made 8 workstations in two “islands” of black MDF. The room has a large MDF closet on one side, which was built in front of the windows with thin sheets of untreated steel. For optimum acoustic, walls are partially covered with felt and floors covered with rubber granules. With the exception of the seats, the whole interior is designed and created by ourselves.
