「夥伴」- 設計理念
現代人常將狗當作寵物，花了很多心思來照料牠們，將牠們視為自己的「毛小孩」；而狗也被人類訓練為工作犬，發揮牠們與身俱來的能力協助人們，常看見的緝毒犬、搜救犬、導盲犬就是最好的例子。
創作者從小就開始養狗，牠們一路陪著我成長，我與牠們有著深刻的情誼，在創作者多年飼養狗的經驗中，我看了很多書籍與報導來充實照顧寵物這方面的知識，不過，放眼看整個社會，雖然很多人都自稱自己愛狗，卻經常用了照顧人的方式去對待寵物，這些自以為正確的方式都可能帶給寵物無法挽回的傷害。在我的第一階段創作實驗展中，就以「寵物的照顧迷思」為議題，來進行一系列的插畫創作，希望藉由創作者細膩的勾劃中，讓觀者能進一步去思考，對狗而言，甚麼樣的照顧才是最適合牠們的。
人們給予狗照顧，狗也奉獻了牠們一生的忠誠。狗不僅是人類的心靈寄託，有些狗更被人類訓練為工作犬，發揮牠們獨有的嗅覺及感知能力於工作上。而且，狗也是人類得力的好幫手、撫慰人心的好夥伴，牠們教會了很多人們自己都沒注意的事。但自詡為萬物之靈的人類卻以為自己支配了牠們，常要求著牠們而忘了檢視自己。因此創作者第二階段即以此為創作的方向，將人類與狗之間微妙的互動透過故事敘述的方式詮釋，擬透過本創作探討工作犬的多種可能性，而人們必須柔軟的看待我們與工作犬的關係。
創作者希冀透過這兩個系列作品，讓人們體會到狗帶給人們的影響力，人與狗之間的相處是互信互助的，而我們更需用正確的方對待牠們，讓這些動物們能有更好的照顧與保障。
Partner - Conception
Modern people often think of dogs as their pets, taking it seriously to care for them and seeing them as their own “fur kids”; besides, they are also trained to serve as working dogs by human beings to develop their instinct ability in the support of mankind. Drug detector dogs, rescue dogs and guide dogs are the examples common
to all.
The creator has been raising dogs since I was young and these dogs have also been accompanying her with close bond of affection all the way through adulthood. During many years’ experience in feeding pets, I have read many books and reports to enrich my knowledge in relation with taking good care of my pets. However, while I looking at the entire society, many people who think of themselves as dog-loving persons still mistakenly treat dogs in the ways that are used to care for human, which may result in irreparable harm for pets on account that those opinionatedly regard their doings as correct methods. At the first stage of the creator’s experimental exhibition, I focuses on the topic “the myth in taking care of pets” and launches a series of illustration creations for the purpose of letting viewers, furthermore, think about how to appropriately look after pets through the illumination from her exquisite sketches.
People give dogs care and dogs also devote their loyalty to people with their whole life span in return. Dogs are not only human’s spiritual support, but some of them are also trained by mankind to serve as working dogs to bring their unique olfactory sensation and perception into work. In addition, dogs are human’s good helpers and nice partners that comfort people’s souls. Meanwhile, they teach many people to be able to take notice of the things that human beings have never paid attention to. On the contrary, the mankind who take themselves as the lord of creation presumably suppose that they dominate those dogs, demanding the animals often but forgetting to reflect over their mistakes. As a result, at the second stage the creator’s exhibition, I interpret subtle interactions between human and dogs by depicting a story to explore multiple possibilities about working dogs. In the end, the key point is to convey that people have to gently deal with the relationship between them and working dogs.
Through the display of these series of works, the creator hopes to let people realize the influence that dogs have brought to them and learn that the tip for getting along with each other lies in mutual trust and aid. More importantly, we have to handle dogs in proper ways to ensure dogs better care as well as more protection.
