How to Make Espresso with a Moka Pot

A small, Italian coffee maker, the Moka pot has been with us through our coffee journey. The moka pot is getting a lot of attention lately, and we attribute this to its ability to produce a dense espresso without breaking the bank. I am also fascinated by the little gurgle it makes as it brews the magic joe on the stovetop.

The moka pot is known in Italy as caffettiera ("coffee maker" in Italian), is an electric or stove-top coffee maker that produces coffee by using steam. The steam is forced through ground coffee and it turns into coffee as it cools down. It was patented in Italy by the inventor Luigi De Ponti for Bialetti in 1933. This infographic shows how to use this little wonder to make delicious coffee.
