Asia Art Center
Asia Art Center is the new name for the Pacific Asia museum in Pasadena. The center is a place where traditional and contemporary Asian art exists. The new logo stacks both horizontally and vertically, which reflects the traditional and current writing system in East Asia. The logo also implements languages from different countries commonly representing Asia, such as China, Japan, and Korea. The dynamic logo mark plays a huge role in the center’s identity, ranging from pattern work to environmental signage, making this new visual language inspire people and engage the community through art and culture.
Layers of Time
Layers of time is an exhibition on the installation artist Do Ho Suh. Suh is best known for his large scale fabric sculptures, which often reflect on themes such as the home, displacement, memory and individuality that evolves from his personal experiences. I created custom typefaces which highlight the layers of thread from his work and created dimensional quality. The interactive title wall generates type based on people's movement by employing projection mapping, motion sensors and processing.
