This brief asked us to work as a group, to create a magazine based on the theme of subversion. My idea was to do a magazine based on First World Problems. The magazine is named 'Quake, short for 'earthquake' - subverting actual real disasters by basing it on a magazine for first world problems.

My first article is entitled 'Apple Doesn't Like Pairs'. It tells the story of how my Bluetooth speaker had a slight lag when connected with my Apple iPad and Apple MacBook Pro - a small but very annoying problem! I used the idea of a lag in my article, spacing the text out unnecessarily to make it difficult to read.

My second article is entitled 'Coppers and Daylight Robbers' It is about the 5p bag charge and how annoying it is, and what to do to get away with not paying for bags. I chose this title as 5p is only classed as coppers (pennies) but to charge us 5p for a bag seems like daylight robbery. I also directed and shot a photoshoot for this article, based on the theme of cop and robbers.

My third article is entitled 'How to Solve your FWPs'. It shows ten different first world problems and solutions to them.

The magazine also included a photo story, subverting real problems by showing people encountering first world problems in a serious situation. The images are black and white, based on a 'disaster appeal' theme. The images included: 'Waiting Forever at the Train Gate', 'Tangled Earphones' and 'No Money to Buy a Bag'.
