Inspiration for this piece came from the mexican loteria cards. The quote used in the piece "y la monotonia es un assesino lento" translates to monotony is a slow murderer, which is a lyric from The Growlers "Monotonia". Within the music video for this song, they use specific symbols of mexican culture, one of which is loteria cards. I chose to incorporate the colors that were already on the cards, for a color pallette. Also, by manipulating the scale and proportion of the letters, the viewer is engaged throughout the entire piece.
