RAY Gold Dust Gaming Club, Vantaa, Finland

The task was to design center piece lighting elements for RAY’s Gold Dust gaming club in Flamingo mall Vantaa. The thematic starting point was Sampo from the Finnish national epic Kalevala. Sampo was a magical artifact which was said to bring good fortune to its possessor.

The final lighting fixtures derived their inspiration from the sparkles of gold and the shape of the playing card suit clubs. The lighting elements were LED-lit and made out of sheet aluminum covered with paint and gold foil.
