We ran a good cause past our donors....and raised $42K!

On October 28th, 826LA is kicked off the inaugural 0.826 mile marathon at the newly unveiled 34-acre Los Angeles State Historic Park on the edge of Downtown L.A. This was a community fundraiser to help keep our doors open to over 9,000 local students for another year. But because we’re 826LA, we did things a little differently...

Since running a 26-mile marathon is slightly unrealistic for us at 826LA, we presented the Half Half Half Half Half Marathon. Runners and ramblers of all ages were invited to dust off their kicks, don a costume, and stroll, dance, skip, or twirl their way to the finish line in support of creative and expository writing skills!
