I have fallen in love with a Jrock band called Survive Said the Prophet. I heard it only starts with just the 1 band, which was coldrain, and then it's downhill from there haha... you start collecting more and more bands you've come to love. Jrock bands tend to go all out, sometimes too much, and it's like a clash of noise to me. Though when they do it right, they nail it so hard and so well. They are very energetic on stage and very approachable off stage. Japanese bands are doing something really special and I'm so grateful to have found some even if it's much later in my adult life.
What I love about Survive Said the Prophet and coldrain are the message they portray in their music. Even though their music can be loud and sometimes aggressive (which I love), but it's always insightful and profound. It penetrates deep and moves me in a way I haven't felt in a long time. I just recently lost my aunt I've known all my life. Even at my darkest hour, music still gives me just enough flame to ignite some inspiration to still create. Goes to show what music can do. It can mend broken hearts, ease your thoughts, bridge gaps, change lives, save lives. Art is very important to me, but it pales in comparison to how essential music is to me to survive day to day. Music has saved my life countless times. I hope some people will take the time to look up some of these bands because they are so underrated and so deserving of the world.
