Medium: Acrylic on canvas (gallery and studio of varying sizes)

 

The idea is simply a play on words, and how our lives or milestones within our lives can be paired up with the type of bike we own. As kids we all start with training wheels, then we move onto something fun and maybe a bit reckless as teenagers. As adults our bikes are used more for exercise, then we are bound to find a partner, who may share the same interest, so later on in life we may find ourselves adding a child seat to our bikes and with that completing the cycle of life.

 

I created this piece for the Biketastic show at the Soundry in VA. The show consisted of art pieces that revolved around the same theme, in this case bicycles.
