An experimental stop-motion video by Silvia Philbrick and Marc Calvet using studio photography and light painting.
The idea of the video stems from two basic concepts:
Metamorphosis: We wanted to explore the transformation of the body, comparing it to the metamorphosis of a butterfly, who's body undergoes a deformation and is radically transformed. In this case we use metamorphosis as a metaphor for the transition between childhood and maturity.
The division of the soul: Plato affirmed that the sould is man's real identity, and that it can be split into three elements or parts: will, reason, and passion. We wanted to reveal this three-way division in the animation.
